How do I care for my opal?

Care of your Opal

With care, opals will retain their original appearance indefinitely.

Treat your precious opal with the same care & respect you would with any fine jewellery.

To clean your opal, simply use water with a drop of mild detergent, then rinse in clean water. Water will not harm solid opal.

Grime from wear can be wiped off with a damp cloth.

Do not put opal in an ultrasonic.

After many years of wear, professional repolishing can bring new life to an opal which has become dull or scratched.

If opal is kept in a safe, place a glass of water inside the safe.
